Brooklyn Moors earns two medals, Canada takes home three at World Challenge Cup
HUNGARY, Hungary — Brooklyn Moors led Canada at the artistic gymnastics World Challenge Cup by winning a gold and bronze medal at the weekend competition.
Moors, from Cambridge, Ont., captured the bronze medal on vault Saturday before taking home top prize on floor Sunday.
Moors’s overall score on floor had her tied with Olympian Catalina Ponor of Romania, but her increased level of difficulty gave her the advantage and the gold medal.
“This was my first World Challenge Cup, so it was a new experience for me,” said Moors. “I had an uncomfortable landing on vault during podium training so I’m really pleased that I was able pull through and qualify to two events.
