Court appearance for former Bowden prison worker accused of aiding escape

 A former Bowden prison worker charged with helping an inmate escape reserved his plea in Red Deer court on Wednesday.

Peter Edgar, 61, is charged with permitting or assisting an escape.

Edgar will be back in court on November 21 for election and plea.

Sylvain Martin escaped from the minimum security annex of Bowden Institution on April 16, 2015.

Martin was arrested on a Canada-wide warrant in Quebec and returned to the custody of Correctional Service Canada in the fall of 2015.
