Penguins’ Rowney out with broken hand

Nov 2, 2017 | 12:12 PM

The Pittsburgh Penguins will be in Alberta tonight playing against Calgary, but Sexsmith native Carter Rowney won’t be in the lineup for the homecoming.

Rowney — who won a Stanley Cup with Pittsburgh last year — broke his hand on Oct. 21 when he blocked a shot against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Associated Press stated the Penguins had put him on the injured reserve. He has been out for five games.

The 6′ 2″, 200-pound right wing had two points in nine games this year before his injury.
