Half a million dollars worth of drugs seized at Bowden Institution
Just shy of $500,000 worth of drugs have been seized at the Bowden Institution.
Staff confiscated multiple packages of contraband from the yard of the medium-security prison on November 14. The contraband includes methamphetamine and THC.
The seizure is the result of combined efforts of correctional officers, the detector-dog team and security intelligence officers.
The Correctional Service of Canada says it is using a number of tools to increase security at its institutions, including ion scanners and drug-detector dogs to search buildings, personal property, inmates and visitors.
