Kings trounced at home Sunday afternoon
It was an up and down weekend for the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings.
The Kings went Saturday night on the road into Dawson Creek and claimed a 4-1 victory over the Canucks. The Kings penalty kill was one of the main factors in Saturday’s win. They killed off seven Canuck power plays in the team’s twelfth victory of the season.
Sunday wasn’t as good for the Kings. Despite outshooting the North Peace Navigators 38-27, the Kings dropped a 6-1 decision. A five-goal second period was the difference Sunday afternoon which was highlighted by a natural hat-trick from Navigators leading scorer Blake Carpenter.
The Kings will look to try and get back in the win column on Thursday night when they host the Beaverlodge Blades. Puck drop is at 8:30 p.m.
