Minor injuries after school bus collision

Dec 12, 2017 | 12:30 PM

A dozen people — 11 students and the driver — had to be treated at hospital for minor injuries after a school bus and vehicle collision Monday.

It happened at the intersection of Roma Drive and Highway 2, about 12 kilometres west of Peace River.

The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division says seven of the students were from its Division while the other four were from the Peace River School Division.

Eight of the students were treated and immediately released from Peace River Hospital, while the other three stayed for a few hours before being sent home. The driver was also treated and released.

The Holy Family Division is praising the bus driver for what it terms “a skilled a response” to the collision, as well as sending thanks to emergency personnel and the families of the children involved.
