UCP calls for emergency debate on pipeline dispute

Feb 13, 2018 | 6:50 AM

EDMONTON- Opposition leader Jason Kenney wants an emergency debate on the province’s pipeline dispute with British Columbia.

Kenney says the United Conservative Party has urged Premier Rachel Notley to reconvene the legislature, but Notley has dismissed the call.

The Premier says she will wait a few more days for the federal government and B-C to work on rolling back B-C’s promise about restricting oil imports, which would jeopardize the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion.

She says talking to each other inside the legislature isn’t what’s needed.
