Feb 13, 2018 | 8:35 AM

The Grande Prairie RCMP are reminding the public to slow down and drive with caution due to the snow and icy conditions.

Rural highways are covered in snow drifts and some areas are experiencing white-out conditions.

In particular Highway 43 westbound toward Beaverlodge, Highway 674, and Highway 773. All three highways are backed up due to various collisions.

Drivers are reminded that if they do hit the road today, to remember the following:

– Keep your vehicle, especially windows and mirrors, clear of snow and ice.

– Drive with your headlights on.

– Avoid sudden moves.

– Leave enough room between you and the vehicle you are following.

– Slow down and adjust your driving to the changing environment and road conditions.
