Suspect sought after man stabbed in Grande Prairie

Grande Prairie RCMP was called to the Ranchlands area of the city early Wednesday morning to reports of an assault. 

Police were called to the area between midnight and 1 a.m. after a 28-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen. 

Two men were allegedly having a conversation in an alley near Prairie Road when they began to fight, according to a media release from RCMP. 

The victim was treated and released from the hospital, but officers are looking for the man who used the weapon. 

According to a description supplied by police, this is what the suspect may look like:

·       Caucasian;

·       Between 5’9″ and 5’10” tall;

·       Wearing a grey jacket and black backpack;

·       May have had a beard.
