Flyers win thriller in double overtime

Feb 20, 2018 | 6:19 AM

The North West Junior Hockey League playoffs resumed Monday night with the only Quarter-Final series remaining.

The JDA Kings were in Fairview to battle the Flyers, and fans in attendance definitely got their money’s worth.

The Kings had a 3-2 lead late in the third period, but the Flyers would tie the game with just 7.5 seconds left to send the game to overtime.

In the second overtime, Remee Richard would play hero for the Flyers and give Fairview the 4-3 win.

With the win, the Flyers now lead the best of five series 2-1.

They will look to try and close out the series on Wednesday in Game 4.

If the series does need a Game 5, it will be at the County Sportsplex on Thursday.

The winner of the series will move on to face the Fort St.John Huskies in the league Semi-Finals.

The other Semi-Final series will feature the Dawson Creek Jr. Canucks against the North Peace Navigators.
