County reps meeting with ministers regarding the status of Beaverlodge hospital

The County of Grande Prairie Reeve, along with the mayors of Wembley, Hythe and Beaverlodge are in Edmonton today to get some answers regarding the new Beaverlodge Hospital.
Leanne Beaupre says they are meeting with the Health Minister Sarah Hoffman and Infrastructure minister Sandra Jansen.
“There had been money set aside before in the budget to do some of the drawings for a rural health facility and just before Christmas it sounded like they had scrapped that idea so we want to know what that means for the Beaverlodge Community Healthcare Facility and we want to know where its at in the queue as far as when it will be built.”
She adds, “This hospital is a much-needed piece of the puzzle for the regional hospital as well as for a lot of the individuals in the county, there’s a lot of places that it is an hour to drive to the Beaverlodge hospital let alone the extra 25 -30 minutes to get to the Grande Prairie hospital.”
