GPRC Wolves hold ID camp to recruit new players

Mar 28, 2018 | 10:10 AM

Despite basketball season being over for the GPRC Wolves, preparations are well underway for next season.

The female basketball team held an ID camp over the weekend, and according to Head Coach Mandy Botham, the camp was a great success.

” I was really pleased with the way it went. I wanted to have the camp early to get a jump on recruitment for the upcoming season. We had a few challenges with other events going on, but we still had 24 players attend the camp which I was pretty happy with. “

When it comes to the upcoming year, Botham added there will be a good chunk of spots to fill in the roster.

” I know that I am losing six athletes for their academics. While I am pleased for them, it definitely does leave a big hole in our roster. I have signed two girls already for the upcoming season, and I have lots of offers out from the ID camp for potential new players. “

Botham concluded by saying she is hoping to have an announcement on a few new recruits in the coming weeks.
