PRSD schools to wear green on Monday for Darcy Haugan
The Peace River School District is having a ‘green day’ in honour of Peace River native Darcy Haugan.
Haugan was killed along with 14 other members of the Humboldt Broncos hockey team, staff, and broadcast crew when their bus collided with a semi-truck on Friday in Saskatchewan. The accident also injured 14 others.
Haugan who attended the T.A. Norris Middle School and was the Coach/General Manager of the North Peace Navigators has known Principal Wade Johnson for nearly all his life and meant so much to the area.
Johnson said that Haugan supported the school’s hockey academy and imparted his hockey knowledge and wisdom to many of the grade 6’s and 7’s.
