Annual Cash and Camping Lottery kicked off Monday, over half a million in prizes up for grabs

The 19th Annual Cash and Camping Lottery kicked off on Monday outside the Great Northern Casino.

Co-Chair of the Lottery Committee Rachel White says there is a wide variety of prizes this year totalling over $450,000.

“For prizes, there’s a collection of trailers, trucks, boats, his and her bikes, gift cards, a backyard package, and camping package.”

There are 60 total prizes available with the top one valued at just under $200,000 which gives the winner the option to pick a 2017 Dodge RAM 3500 Lamarie Crew Cab 4×4 or 2017 Jayco Eagle 325 BHQS in addition to a one year RV Lot at Spruce Meadows Golf and RV Park.

People who buy their tickets before May 14 will have the opportunity to win a handful of cash prizes of up to $30,000.

Draw #1 will be held on May 28 while draw #2 will take place in late June.

White added that 12 local non-profit organizations will receive a portion of the proceeds.

“Bezanson Agricultural Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grande Prairie and area, Grande Prairie Gymnastics Society, Grande Prairie Music Parents Association, Spinal Cord Injury Alberta and Suicide Prevention Resource Society, to name a few,” she said.

Tickets are 1 for $50 or 3 for $100 and must be purchased by July 4, 2018, at cashandcamping.com or by calling 780-532-0506. The draw takes place on July 18.

Additionally, the Summer Bonus Cash draw will feature a jackpot of up to $250,000 with a minimum payout of $50,000. Tickets are 1 for $10, 3 for $25 or 5 for $40.
