Red Deer officially announced as new home for CFR

The Canadian Professional Rodeo Association suggests better economic times are in store for Red Deer, Alberta for years to come.
The Canadian Finals Rodeo has announced it is moving to Red Deer, after 44 years in Edmonton.
The last CFR was held at Edmonton’s Northlands Coliseum in November, but the rodeo was forced to move when the city decided to close the arena.
The City of Red Deer put in a bid in December to move the event south — and won.
