Edmonton Police involved in lengthy standoff

EDMONTON- A 56-year-old woman suspected of using a gun to pull off a robbery at an Edmonton apartment block is in custody after a day-long standoff with police.
Officers were called to the block early yesterday morning after a tenant said he had been held up.
Police say a suspect was tracked to a suite in the same building, where four occupants eventually came out, but a fifth person who was allegedly armed refused to leave.
After hours of negotiations, she surrendered without incident around 9:30 last night.
