Price of gas up in Grande Prairie

The price of gas has gone up in Grande Prairie and according to a Petroleum Analyst prices won’t go down for another week or so.

Dan McTeague with Gas Buddy says some refineries in Edmonton are down for maintenance which is adding about five cents per litre.

“The wholesale prices today in Grande Prairie are $1.21, in Edmonton they are $1.21 so it really doesn’t matter where you are.”

He says retailers here are paying about two cents per litre more for delivery of the fuel.

“I think we have to wait and see when Edmonton’s refineries get back online, I think that is likely to happen in a week or so. We could see prices moderating into the $1.25 range $1.27 range here in Grande Prairie.”
