Morgan Commits to Storm

Late Monday night the Grande Prairie Storm announced their latest commitment for the 2018-2019 season.

The club announced 2002 born forward Nathan Morgan will join the team for next year.

The Calgary Native spent last season playing for the NAX Elite of the Canadian Sports School Hockey League and posted an impressive 29 goals and 26 assists in 33 games.

Morgan also racked up 3 points in 5 tournament games to help his club claim the 2018 CSSHL Elite 15 Championship.

Grande Prairie Storm Head Coach Matt Keillor stated in the release that he see’s similarities between Morgan and 2018 AJHL Rookie of the Year, Zachary Okabe.

“He just wants to be out there. It’s the same thing we saw with Okabe. He wants to be a hockey player really bad and he is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals.”

Morgan will join a prestigious group of 16-year-olds which have played for the Storm in club history.

This includes Cruz Cote, Zachary Okabe, and current New York Islanders forward Tanner Fritz.

Morgan and the Storm will hit the ice for training camp beginning on August 24th.
