Evacuation alert for portions of southwest Alberta

An evacuation alert has been issued for a resort and some other properties in the Pincher Creek area of southern Alberta due to a nearby wildfire in B-C.

Alberta officials say the Sage Creek fire hadn’t crossed the provincial boundary.

But it’s issued a warning for people to be prepared in case they need to quickly leave quickly.

The Municipal District of Pincher Creek number 9 has also issued a complete fire ban for the area because it says the hazard is so high that any fire may become large.
