Alberta Premier Rachel Notley says her government has shortlisted six projects as part of efforts to support petrochemical upgrading in the province.
She made the announcement this morning during an address to a meeting of the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors in Calgary.
Notley also said that until new pipelines are built, more oil must be shipped by train to help overcome the low price Alberta is getting for crude.
The Alberta government announced Tuesday that it’s expanding a royalty credit program by adding 600-million dollars to promote upgrading projects.
