Nov 24, 2018 | 8:23 AM

The Manning Comets pulled off a first for this season in the NPHL on Friday night.

Prior to last night, no team had come back to win this season when trailing after 40 minutes.

And it was no small task either for the Comets, who had to battle back from a 5-1 deficit to shock the Falher Pirates 6-5 in a shoot out.

Dave Lawrence, Michael Gillen, Thomas Dechant and Josh Rutherford all scored in the third period for the Comets.

Rutherford’s goal was his second of the night.

Rutherford and Tyler Dillman also scored in the shoot out for Manning.

Jay Bouchard, Trevor Mazurek, Dallas Brochu, Brian Sommers, and Jay Anderson scored for the Pirates, with Bouchard also scoring in the shoot out.
