The unemployment rate for the region that includes the Peace Country went up slightly in February, but this area is still doing better than most of Alberta.
Statistics Canada says the unemployment rate for the Grande Prairie-Peace River-Banff-Jasper-Rocky Mountain House region stood at 5.1 percent last month, up from 4.8 per cent in January.
Only Red Deer at 4.7 per cent had a lower unemployment rate among this province’s regions.
Alberta’s February unemployment rate stood at 6.9 per cent, up from 6.3 per cent in January.
