Fire Ban issued for City and County of Grande Prairie area

A Fire Ban has been issued within the City and County of Grande Prairie.
Effective 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 all fire permits are suspended or cancelled, and no new permits will be issued, due to hot and dry conditions creating an extreme fire hazard threat
All outdoor wood fires are now prohibited, including wood campfires on private land, as are charcoal barbecues and fire works.
Propane-powered appliances are still allowed and in-door wood fires will be permitted if they are inside a structure and contained with a chimney and spark arrestor.
