Grande Prairie basketball player to try out for a national team

A basketball player originally from Grande Prairie has been invited to try out for a national team.

Deng Ngor is among the 18 players invited to a tryout camp for Canada’s U18  Men’s National Team.

The final 12 selected will represent our country at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup June 1-7 in Leon, Mexico.

Eight trams will take part. Canada is in Group B with the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico.

Ngor was part of the first-ever team from Alberta to win the men’s medal at the Canada Summer Games last August in St. John’s.

He played high school basketball with the Fort Erie International Academy in Ontario.
