OTTAWA — Canada’s national unemployment rate was 5.8 per cent in July. Here are the jobless rates last month by province (numbers from the previous month in brackets):

— Newfoundland and Labrador per cent 15.4 (15.5)

— Prince Edward Island 9.5 (8.9)

— Nova Scotia 8.0 (7.9)
