Non-profit organization’s building in Edmonton destroyed by fire

Jan 20, 2018 | 8:19 AM

A non-profit organization that helps treat injured birds of prey near Edmonton is trying to recover after one of its buildings was destroyed by fire.

The hawk facility operated by the Alberta Society for Injured Birds of Prey burned on Wednesday, likely due to an electrical malfunction.

A dozen birds were killed in the blaze, but one owl was able to escape.

Rebuilding and repairs will cost about 50,000 dollars and a GoFundMe page has been launched to help raise the money.
