Quebec student, 9, barred from bus after alleged sexual bullying

MONTREAL — A nine-year-old Quebec boy has been barred from taking a school bus after an alleged sexual bullying incident this week involving two kindergarten students.

The Montreal Gazette reported Friday the boy coerced a five-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy into touching tongues on the bus Monday before eventually demanding they remove their pants and, in turn, lick each other’s genitals.

The allegations were made by the younger children’s parents, who asked that the Greater Montreal-area elementary school not be named.

“We can confirm that an incident happened on the bus with very young children in an elementary school and it’s a bullying incident,” Jennifer Maccarone, president of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board, said in an interview.

She said the older boy is nine years old and that the two other children are in kindergarten.

“The (alleged) perpetrator is no longer on that same bus where the incident occurred,” Maccarone said. “An alternative form of transportation has been provided for that child.”

The principal of the unnamed school met with the families of the three children and also called social services.

The school board also expects to meet with the school bus company to review the matter.
