Eckville Man facing over 70 charges related to sexual assault

Mar 8, 2019 | 11:24 AM

A man from Eckville has been charged with child pornography charges, following a search of a home in Eckville and Fox Creek back in January.

34-year-old Christopher Juneau is now charged with 73 separate counts which include multiple instances of:

  • sexual assault
  • sexual interference
  • invitation to sexual touching
  • voyeurism
  • possessing, accessing, distributing, and making child pornography
  • breach of recognizance

Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams have now identified at least eight child victims. The alleged offenses took place at various times and dates back to 2013.

Police say forensic analysis of Juneau’s phone and computers have resulted in finding more than half a million images and videos of child sexual exploitation and voyeurism, and ICE forensic technicians still haven’t completed their full analysis.

Fox Creek RCMP, Sylvan Lake RCMP, the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre in Red Deer, and the Caribou Child and Youth Centre in Grande Prairie have assisted in the investigation, that began when Australian Police notified ALERT that an Alberta man was suspected of sharing child pornography images online.

Juneau remains in custody, as he has been since his January 18 arrest.
