Male injured in explosion near Webster

UPDATE: A family member of the young man who was injured says he received third degree burns to his hands and legs when a wood stove in the home blew up. She told Everything GP local police confirmed to her there was nothing criminal about the incident and they were no longer investigating.  The injured male is now at home recovering.

 

(10:57 a.m.) Grande Prairie RCMP are investigating an explosion that injured a man in his twenties.

The incident occurred Wednesday at a residence near Webster, approximately 20 kilometres northwest of the city.

STARS Air Ambulance was dispatched to the scene at 5:13 p.m. and transported a 22-year-old male to the QEII hospital in non-life threatening condition.
