GP food trucks undergo inspections for 2025 season

May 1, 2025 | 12:47 PM

Residents in the community may have noticed the City of Grande Prairie starting its “annual inspection blitz for mobile cooking units.”

To receive their business license, 28 mobile vendors are undergoing inspections from the City’s Inspection Division, AHS, and the Fire Department.

Program Coordinator, Melissa Enman-White said, “It takes a team effort to provide this complimentary service to our community,” and it’s “an important way we protect public safety and support local entrepreneurs.”

Even though most of the almost 30 trucks going through inspections are local, the City says some are from around the Peace, as any trucks that plan on operating within the City of Grande Prairie for events must be certified by the City.

Once inspections are complete, the City of Grande Prairie will post a list of all approved food trucks for the 2025 season, “and share (the list) with organizers of upcoming events to help maximize vendor exposure.”
