Canucks forced to forfeit four games

Dec 20, 2017 | 5:00 AM

Some substantial news out of the North Peace Hockey League Wednesday morning as the league announced the Dawson Creek Canucks will be forced to forfeit four games due to the club using too many imported players.

The games which the Canucks forfeit include:

– November 4th at Manning

– November 30th vs Grimshaw

– December 2nd at High Prairie

– December 14th vs Grande Prairie

The teams who are affected by this will be credited with wins, but stats earned will remain the same.

According to Hockey Alberta rules, clubs are only allowed to play with six import players on their rosters.

The Dawson Creek Canucks also played seven imports in games against Falher on November 18th, and on December 12th against Grande Prairie.

However, the Canucks lost both of those games and as a result, the standings are unaffected.
