Feb 16, 2018 | 5:17 AM

The North West Junior Hockey League playoffs continued Thursday night with one Quarter-Final series beginning.

The JDA Kings earned a 4-3 victory over the Fairview Flyers in dramatic fashion.

The Kings scored early in the third period to take a 3-1 lead, but Fairview wouldn’t go away.

Late in the third period, Jared Moffat would cut the deficit to one, and on the power play Matt Lueken would tie the game up at 3.

However, the Kings would score the game-winner with 33 seconds remaining as Zach Bennett would play hero thanks to a beautiful one-timer to vault the Kings to a 4-3 win.

With the win, the Kings take a 1-0 series lead in their best of five series with the Fairview Flyers.

Game 2 will be at the County Sportsplex Saturday night at 8:00 p.m.

Playoffs resume on Friday as Dawson Creek is in Sexsmith looking to try and take a 2-0 series lead, and the North Peace Navigators head to Beaverlodge to battle the Blades.
