Feb 16, 2018 | 6:25 AM

A pair of games Thursday night in the North Peace Hockey League post-season.

The Fort St.John Flyers edged the Grande Prairie Athletics 6-4.

The win eliminates the Athletics from potentially making it to the NPHL Final, and vaults the Flyers even closer to making the league final.

The East Division Final began last night, and the Falher Pirates made a statement in the opener.

They clobbered the High Prairie Regals 9-4 in Game one to take a 1-0 series lead.

Game 2 will be played on Saturday in High Prairie.

Grande Prairie will also be in Dawson Creek on Saturday to continue the West Division double round robin.

Dawson Creek needs a win to keep their hopes alive of potentially making the league final.
