Storm aim for 25th win of the season tonight against Brooks

The Grande Prairie Storm are back on the ice at Revolution Place this evening as they host the Brooks Bandits.

The Storm are coming off an impressive win at home on Wednesday night, earning a 5-2 victory over the Bonnyville Pontiacs.

Grande Prairie goes into this evenings game in 4th place in the AJHL’s North Division with a 24-25-3 record, five points ahead of both the Lloydminster Bobcats and Sherwood Park Crusaders.

Tonight’s opponent is one of the top clubs in the AJHL.

The Brooks Bandits absolutely demolished the Calgary Canucks in their last outing, winning 11-1 to improve to 39-12-1 on the year which is good for 2nd in the AJHL’s South Division.

Brooks claimed the last meeting between the two teams 3-2 in overtime back in mid-October.

Puck drop between the Bandits and Storm is tonight at 7:30 p.m. from Revolution Place.

In other Storm news, forward Justin Bernier has been announced as a finalist for the AJHL MVP.

The last member of the Grande Prairie Storm to win the award was current New York Islander Tanner Fritz.

Also, 16-year-old forward Zachary Okabe has been nominated for Rookie of the Year.

Okabe currently sits 2nd in rookie scoring in the entire AJHL.
