One less stop for WPCA in 2018

Feb 25, 2018 | 6:57 AM

The World Professional Chuckwagon Association says it will not race in Bonnyville this summer.

In a posting on its website, the WPCA says it tried to negotiate a new agreement with Bonnyville organizers, but was worried about sponsorships after seven wagons ran without tarp sponsors last year.

The group felt this problem would be worse with Canadian Professional Chuckwagon Association races being added and a total of 61 wagons set to run this year .

The WPCA says it offered four different proposals, but all were rejected and the people in Bonnyville decided to only go with the CPCA.
