Call out for people to be featured in city’s next promotional video

The city is making a promotional video and looking for locals to star in it.

Gordie Haakstad, who is Co-Owner of The Distillery Film Company says they put out a casting call to try and find a range of Grande Prairie people that are representative of all the good things G.P. has to offer.

“Activities, sports, recreation, and culture, but then also business and family life and stuff like that,” explained Haakstad. “The promotional piece, will not necessarily highlight people throughout all of their lives, but little snip-its of moments of their lives, as they live and play in Grande Prairie.”

He says they received many applications and they’ll be narrowing them down to about 20 for the video.

“We’re looking for individuals, we’re looking for couples, we’re looking for families,” he said.  “Young individuals, starting out in their career, but also the older generation that is established in Grande Prairie.”

Their plan is to feature around 30 different activities.

Haakstad said since they received such a great response to the online casting call, they planned on closing for applications soon.
