Bernier signs pro contract in France

The Grande Prairie Storm’s leading scorer from the 2017-2018 season has found his new home for next season.

Graduating 20-year-old forward Justin Bernier has signed a pro contract with the Brest Albatros in France.

The Albatros compete in France’s Division 1 league.

It was an impressive campaign for Bernier this past season with the Storm as he compiled 78 points in 59 games.

He also added 8 assists in 9 playoff games.

Bernier finished 3rd in the entire AJHL scoring last year and was nominated for AJHL MVP.

Bernier isn’t the first member of the Grande Prairie Storm to go overseas to continue

Assistant Coach Blake Cosgrove played two seasons in France for the Reims Phenix and the Caen Drakkars during his European pro career.
