Smith, Team Canada volleyball in Edmonton for Challenge Cup

A Beaverlodge-raised volleyball player will be playing relatively close to home this week.
 
Dani Smith and the rest of Canada’s women’s team will be in Edmonton for the Challenge Cup. It runs today through Sunday.
 
This is part of qualification for a new Volleyball Nations League.
 
Smith and Team Canada open play tonight against Trinidad and Tobago before playing Costa Rica Saturday.
 
Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, and Cuba make up the other pool.
 
Playoff games are set for Sunday.
