UPDATE (11:25 a.m.): The evacuation order has been lifted after a hazardous material leak was identified earlier this morning in the east section of the McRae Industrial Park in Clairmont. Members of the public can now return to the area.
97 Street from 140 Avenue to 148 Avenue in Clairmont has reopened to traffic
UPDATE from RCMP (9:55 a.m.): Grande Prairie Rural RCMP are currently on scene with Grande Prairie Emergency Services at a Hazardous Materials spill at 14424 97 Street. 97 Street is closed south of 148 Avenue to 140 Avenue. The areas south and east of 148 Avenue along 97 street are being evacuated. Crews estimate that it will take approximately 2 hours before the area will be reopened.
8:33 a.m.: An area north of Grande Prairie has been evacuated following a hydrochloric acid leak.
