Storm acquire Girard from Battleford

Jun 13, 2018 | 11:33 AM

The Grande Prairie Storm continue to shape their roster for next season.

The club has sent blueliner Parker Huebner (98) to the Battleford North Stars of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in exchange for forward Brad Girard (98).

Huebner joined the Storm 10 games into the 2017-2018 season from the Brooks Bandits.

During his time with Grande Prairie, Huebner had 3 goals and 11 assists in 33 games.

Huebner will join his twin brother Dakota with the SJHL club for their final season of Junior hockey.

In Girard, the Storm receive a forward who is entering his final year of Junior and is also coming off his most successful season offensively.

In 40 games with the North Stars last year, Girard racked up 14 goals and 17 assists.

He also added 3 goals and 3 assists in the post-season.

Girard will be looked at to provide offence for the Storm next year following the departure of the team’s top 3 scorers from a year ago.

The Storm will hit the ice for training camp at the end of August.
