Man fined after leaving black marks on rainbow crosswalk

A truck owner is facing fines after black tire tracks were left on the rainbow crosswalk downtown.

On Thursday, June 14, 2018, a witness reported that a Ford truck did a burnout on the recently repainted Pride crosswalk. 

The crosswalk, located at 98 Street and 103 Avenue, was left with black tire marks. 

Police were able to locate the truck and the male driver. Two tickets were issued under the Traffic Safety Act and totaled approximately $800. 

RCMP thank the public for their continuous help in solving crime in the community.
