GPRC planning for mid-August re-opening after fire
Cleanup and restoration work continues at Grande Prairie Regional College after a fire on the roof of the B-Wing back on May 25th.
Over 100 people from multiple contractors are working seven days a week to get the school ready for a scheduled mid-August re-opening.
Officials with the college say classes will start in September as scheduled, regardless of the status of the restoration work.
The area needing the most attention is the B-Wing, as the college says some areas are having to be completely rebuilt with new walls, flooring and equipment.
Cleaning and restoration work is also being done in the A and C wings of the school, with shows scheduled for the Douglas J Cardinal Performing Arts Centre being moved to other locations for the time being while work is done to the concourse area of the theatre.
