Province-wide Citizens on Patrol AGM to be held in Sexsmith

Jul 4, 2018 | 4:27 PM

Over 150 people from around Alberta will make their way to the Town of Sexsmith this fall for the Alberta Citizens on Patrol Association Annual General Meeting.

The Sexsmith Citizens on Patrol (COP) will host members from all over the province at the Sexsmith Civic Centre.

Event Co-Chair Dennis Milligan says the three days will include community-based information sessions.

“There are workshops that cover various topics that would be things of interest for Citizens on Patrol and issues they may come across. As an example, this year we will have (sessions) regarding the legalization of marijuana and how that is going to impact the public,” said Milligan.

Milligan adds that they are expecting presentations from RCMP members as well as Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership.

“They have chosen topics that will help us on future patrols and keep our neighbourhoods safe.”

The event goes from September 21 to 23, 2018.
