UPDATE: RCMP Underwater Recovery Team members search for toddler

Jul 10, 2018 | 11:01 AM

The search efforts for a missing toddler now include a five-person RCMP dive team.

RCMP Underwater Recovery Team members from Saskatchewan and Manitoba have also arrived to assist in the search and recovery efforts of the missing toddler.

They are searching in various areas within two kilometres of where the two-year-old went missing Friday.  They are using sonar and physical dives along the river, looking for any sign of him.

The boy was with his family at the Wapiti River near the Canfor Bridge when he was last seen.

Just a few people from Technical Search and Rescue also remain at the scene.

The Grande Cache Search and Rescue team has returned to Grande Cache. They say on their Facebook page that the nine members returned home last night.  They had been here helping with the search since Sunday.

Police continue to ask the general public to stay away from the area to allow emergency services to focus on the search.

We will have more updates as they become available from RCMP.
