Team Canada women's volleyball qualifies for Pan Am Games

Canada's women's indoor volleyball team has clinched a spot in next year's Pan Am Games.
 
The team, which includes Beaverlodge product Dani Smith, defeated the host side 3-0 Tuesday at the Pan American Cup in the Dominican Republic.
 
Canada finished first in its pool and advanced diarchy to the semi-final round. Those games will be played on Friday.
 
Canada was the only team to win all its matches 3-0, giving it the best record in pool play.
 
Brazil also advanced to the semis.
 
The top five finishers at this event go to next year's Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru
