Michaud off to University of Moncton

Jul 13, 2018 | 7:35 AM

The Grande Prairie Storm announced Thursday graduating forward Edouard Michaud has committed to play for the University of Moncton for the 2018-2019 season.

Michaud was a major contributor for the Storm last year as the 20-year-old compiled 39 goals and 34 assists over 52 regular season contests.

According to Storm Head Coach and Associate General Manager Matt Keillor in a press release, ” If he (Michaud) didn’t have the shoulder injury after his incredible start to the season, he would have been pushing 50 goals.”

He was also a major reason why the Storm advanced to the second round of the playoffs as he found the back of the net 7 times in their five-game series victory over the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

Michaud had plenty of success during his four year Junior career.

Over the course of 183 games at the Junior A level, Michaud notched 79 goals and 115 assists

He was also selected to play for Canada East in the 2016 World Junior A Challenge, and the CJHL Top Prospects game in the same season
