Hythe man faces slew of charges

Jul 14, 2018 | 8:05 AM

A 39 year old Hythe man has a Monday court date in Edmonton after being arrested in Barrhead on Wednesday night.

RCMP say they followed a truck that drove through a red light to an apartment complex, where a male driver got out of the vehicle and ran inside the complex.

The man then left the complex and was arrested without incident.

Police say the truck was reported stolen from St Albert on June 29th, and further investigation led them to a camper in Rotary park in Barrhead that had been reported stolen from Sherwood Park on June 30th.

Rodney Wade Salter faces seven charges, including dangerous driving, flight from police, driving while disqualified, theft over five grand, breach of recognizance, and two counts of possession of stolen property.

Mounties say Salter is also believed to be a suspect in the theft of a truck from Barrhead Ford on June 25th.

That vehicle has not been recovered as of yet.
