Bronze for Smith and Team Canada women’s volleyball

Beaverlodge’s Dani Smith and the rest of the Canadian women’s volleyball team claimed bronze at the Pan American Cup in the Dominican Republic.
Canada beat Brazil in three straight games (25-19, 25-20, 25-21) in the third place game on Saturday.
It’s the first time that Canada has medalled at the event since 2002.
Canada also qualified for next year’s Pan American Games in Peru thanks to their top 5 finish in the tournament.
