Wildfire danger at low for Grande Prairie Forest Area

Jul 20, 2018 | 11:06 AM

The province has dropped the wildfire hazard for the Grande Prairie Forest Area to low as a result of the forecast calling for cool and wet conditions.

This season, the area has had 33 wildfires, burning more than 13 hectares. Each fire has been extinguished. Only six fires have been caused by lightning, the rest were human-caused.

There are no fire advisories, restrictions, or fire bans in place.

To see the most recent information on fire bans, look at the Alberta Fire Bans information page.

If you spot a wildfire or see smoke, call 310-Fire.
