Drysdale hoping ASG visitors come back again

Jul 20, 2018 | 3:15 PM

GP Wapiti MLA Wayne Drysdale thinks it will be good to show off the Peace to first-time visitors during the Alberta Summer Games.

“It brings a lot of people to Grande Prairie that have never been here before and you get to see facilities like the dino museum and the Eastlink Centre and our new football field now and just the region in general. People are quite surprised. Once they’re here for a few days, maybe it’ll give them the incentive to come back some day. I hear every hotel in town has been booked and had waiting lists for a long time, so it’s good for the economy.”

He also thinks it is good to see the province come together.

“Everybody with some good spirits and a nice Indigenous connection, too.”

Drysdale is hoping for a little sunshine this weekend for the Games.

Competition got underway today and will finish Sunday.
